Oracle’s India Tax team is at a critical juncture, facing significant challenges in continuing to support our core tax functions— Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance, Audit, Planning, Litigation, and Treasury—amid increasingly compressed timelines. These functions are crucial to several high-priority projects, including compliance and reporting, audit defense, controversy management, and handling other regulatory inquiries. The pressure to meet these deadlines continues to grow, with the bar for shortening these already tight timelines constantly advancing. Over the past year, the team has successfully maintained these essential activities with a small, highly skilled, and nimble group of resources, though this has come at the cost of team fatigue. While we’ve diligently searched for a qualified team lead with tax domain expertise, the increasing urgency and complexity of the work require additional support.

At this crucial time, we are looking to bring in talented Individual Contributors who have strong Tax experience to fill this pivotal requirement and help continue driving our critical tax operations forward under intense pressure. These contributors will not only provide much-needed support to ensure our tax functions stay on track but will also play a key role in executing a variety of essential tasks. The role demands an extensive background in tax operations, with an emphasis on core activities such as tax planning, tax provision, tax filing, and providing comprehensive tax audit support. Additionally, the individual contributors will assist in driving business process improvement projects within the tax function, ensuring that we are continuously optimizing our workflows and systems for greater efficiency.

This position will require close collaboration with senior tax experts to support strategic decision-making, enhance the quality of tax reporting, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. The successful individual will be someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities under tight timelines, and possess the expertise to navigate complex tax issues with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Their contributions will be critical in ensuring that we meet our organizational goals and maintain the quality and integrity of our tax operations, all while managing increased workload demands. These individual contributors will be at the heart of keeping our tax functions running smoothly and ensuring timely delivery of crucial tax activities, helping the team meet its goals despite the challenges ahead.
