Core Responsibilities

  • Management of team reporting to the post holder in his or her unit, plan the schedule, annual leave, absence coverage for sick/emergency leave, update on the inventory control, request the consumables, report to the IP Therapy Manager on the statistics, and handle patients’ issues related to day-to-day operations.
  • The post holder is directly responsible for the daily running and management of their work area, including caseload organization and prioritization to accommodate changes in staff levels due to unplanned absences. Assist and/or act on behalf of the IP Therapy Manager to implement the established scope of service and monitors the flow and processes of patient care for all rehabilitation services.
  • The post holder will be expected to competently manage additional responsibilities and workload at short notice, requiring reorganization and prioritization of their workload, due to the unexpected absence of either junior, senior, or support staff. This may involve the post holder is taking on the management of the area covered in addition to their workload.
  • The post-holder will take responsibility for the supervision, delegation of work, & educational training of the staff reporting to him or her on a day-to-day basis.
  • Contributes to department management education and professional development of staff, and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
  • The post holder may be the first point of contact for inquiries and will provide a source of specialist advice to other healthcare professionals involved in Inpatient care.
  • Decisions and actions are based on ethical principles and foster a non-discriminatory climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to sociocultural diversity.
  • Highly undertake a specialist clinical assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multiple pathologies; interpret and analyze clinical and non-clinical data, use developed clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques.
  • Act independently to formulate, implement, evaluate, and deliver an individual therapy treatment plan based upon evidence-based practice and treatment options.
  • Responsible to carry out work practice in the department following DOH Abu Dhabi regulations, where applicable.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Physiotherapy.
  • Master’s Degree in Science in Physiotherapy or Masters of Physiotherapy therapy from an accredited educational institution, college, or university.

Must Have

  • No less than 10 year’s full-time experience as a licensed PT.
  • No less than 2 years of team management or education/quality related experience or senior PT experience.
