
Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
- Assist the leadership team translate Jaysom’s Health & Wellness strategy into actionable programs and activities throughout the resort.
- Carry out thorough individual or group medical consultations with guests to help determine their health condition and what treatment to be applied and pointing out causes of problems.
- Develop and craft effective, personalised natural treatments for the guests
- Use the right coaching methods, support and encouragement to ensure guests are motivated and committed to successfully and sustainably reach their health and wellness goals.
- Ambassador of the company’s wellness and sustainability culture, promote its awareness amongst team members by leading by example.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Holds the legal responsibility of actions and services delivered in the Health and Wellness area
- Maintain effective communication with all departments of the resort to ensure a smooth and outstanding service for all guests.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients, corporate office.
- Promote a friendly, dynamic and collaborative work environment that includes, open communication, team work, participation, trust, respect, professionalism and fun.
- Have a complete understanding of own role, responsibilities and company expectations.
- Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, employee guidelines and service standards.
- Educate resort employees on natural treatments available at the resort.
- Deliver and participate in meetings as required, facilitate seminars and training to internal and external guests.
- Participate in people and community relations activities and programs available at the property and encourage team members to participate.
- Work towards exceeding company’s business targets.
- Take a positive and resourceful approach to every project.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Build a strong and caring team of medical practitioners by proactively participating in their selection, training and development.
- Effectively manage, coach and develop the team including fostering a commitment towards the company’s health and wellness vision.
- Assign responsibilities to team members and ensure they are working towards completing their tasks and achieving company objectives within the deadlines and consistently provide them with the necessary support and challenging environment.
- Ensure team members have a complete understanding of their role, responsibilities and company expectations.
- Frequently assess the skills, knowledge and abilities of team members, and ensure training programs are created and delivered to fill the gaps and to guarantee outstanding service at all times.
- Provide support to the team so they can deliver as per expectations
- Provide regular performance feedback to team members, coaching and counselling sessions as needed.
- Celebrate successes and recognize the contribution of team members.
- Foster employee commitment to provide excellent service, participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings and model desired service behaviours in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connect with team and guests and develop professional relationships that foster trust, confidence, harmony, and loyalty.
- Ensure the consultation room is always clean and net, with the necessary materials and equipment and ready to welcome guests at any time.
- Carry out individual consultations with guests to intake information about their health and lifestyle, understand their goals and foresee potential challenges.
- Sign-off intake forms post Nurse and Wellness consultation, ensure the data collected is complete including the guests’ history, current status, contraindications, therapies options, special recommendations and potential health concerns.
- Craft individualized diet plans that address personal needs.
- Issue comprehensive and personalized guest reports and guidelines after post naturopathic or nutritional consultations.
- Conduct before and post stay (online) consultations with guests when required.
- Evaluate and document clients’ progress through treatment plans.
- Creatively inspire and motivate guests to take control of their health, good nutrition and individualised treatments and fitness programs by celebrating their successes.
- Recommend and prescribe necessary nutrient, botanical or homeopathic supplements that enhance the health and wellness of guests.
- Be available to answer questions, comments, and concerns from guests, including supplement recommendations for the sudden onset of minor acute medical conditions such as colds, influenzas, headaches, insomnia or jet lag.
- Review the results of food intolerance panels and other laboratory tests and make recommendations.
- Remain impartial at all times and ensure the treatments and services fulfill and exceed the guests’ expectations.
- Access highly confidential and private information. Protect and promote the guest’s confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
- On call and available to answer the nurses’ questions and provide expert guidance
- Use the appropriate techniques for effective assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of the guests’ needs, and seek for support when needed, to ensure the service provided to guests is consistent and continuously exceeds their expectations.
- Arrange necessary prescriptions.
- Coordinate with the team in charge of therapy scheduling to ensure adjustments to therapies or schedule are appropriate and relevant
- Have a good working knowledge of all Wellness services provided at the resort, including promotional items, visiting consultants, facilities and its capabilities.
- Partake in the resort educational program through Group activities (workshops, lectures or else)
- Be aware of current and future services offered by the resort and offer suggestions for improvement, expansion or creation of new services.
- Keep updated with local and international natural treatment trends through internet, magazines and other applicable media.
- Assist the management team with development of programs or retreats.
- Lead the nurse team
- Participate in PR events as required.
- Carry out administrative duties such as completion of monthly reports, team training, etc.
- When not booked with guests, is present at the wellness center or in restaurants to assist operations team with guests relations and care.
- Support the operations and help when needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Allopathic Medicine Doctor Degree
- BA/BsC in Health Science
- First Aid & CPR
- Suitable practitioner license for work in Saudi Arabia
- Applicable practitioner malpractice and liability insurance
- Fluent in English, Arabic an advantage
- Additional language an advantage
Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a health & wellness resort
- Experience in assessing and evaluating guests’ overall health and develop individualised natural treatment programs tailored to their individual needs
- Experience motivating and educating good and healthy habits to guests
