Job Description

Head of Early Childhood Department or Head of Kindergarten Section (KG1 & KG2) 4 & 5 Years students, be responsible for:

1. Leadership & strategic direction: Setting the vision for early years, leading and managing the early years team: teachers, assistants, support staff, being part of the school’s senior / middle leadership team.
2. Curriculum, pedagogy & quality of teaching: Ensuring the early years curriculum is well planned, managing assessment, monitoring student progress and using data to drive improvement, facilitating professional development for staff: coaching, mentoring, implementing new teaching strategies.
3. Student wellbeing, pastoral care & transition: Safeguarding, child protection and ensuring the environment is nurturing and developmentally appropriate.
4. Operational management: Daily operations of the Kindergarten Section: scheduling, staffing, resource allocation, classroom environment.
5. Community, parent and stakeholder engagement: Building strong relationships with parents and families, communicating progress, policies, curriculum intent and child-development outcomes to parents.
